an open forum on the christian practice of prayer. i started it because prayer is not working for me. the silence of God is deafening. so i want to hear what others think. i still pray, not because i understand it, but because i cannot not pray. comments will be moderated.

when it comes to true honest-to-god faith, christians today live in apostasy.
just trying to entertain all possibilities. most christians i know or know about are good people, and i cannot judge their faith. but, most christians i know support church as a business, and give a vast majority of their time and money to those entities. good is done internally, but very little happens outside the church walls. VERY few people i know operate at a profound level of faith. jesus himself wondered out loud if, when he returns, will he find faith on the earth?
apostasy is probably too strong a word. in reality, perhaps believers are simply deficient in the faith dept., enough to short-circuit the prayer mechanism.
